The eighth-ranked Warriors captured the 2018 NextEra Energy Resources Invitational at Garber championship Saturday with a 40-34 win over Class 2A No. 15 Cashion.

Okarche outscored Cashion in all four quarters, including a 10-9 advantage in the opening eight minutes. The team never looked back, taking the same one-point lead into halftime before running away with the victory in the second half.

The Warriors grabbed a three-point lead, outscoring Cashion 13-11 in the third quarter coming out of the break. They closed the game out with a 12-9 run to capture the victory, the team’s fourth straight.

Senior Kassidy Rother led the team with 16 points while sophomore Madison Owens chipped in eight. Juniors Marlo Hunt and Raegan Robinson each scored six points while freshman Karsyn Vallerand and senior Jade Owens each scored two.

Okarche hit six three-pointers in the game and went 9-for-12 from the free-throw line. The Warriors held Cashion to just two makes from beyond the arc and six from the charity stripe.

The Warriors return to action Friday night, facing off with Class 2A Watonga at home before hitting the road to take on 2A Cordell on Tuesday.
