The eighth-ranked Warriors’ six-game win streak came to an end last Friday night at the Okarche Basketball Gymnasium in a 38-32 loss to Oklahoma Christian Academy.

It was a rough shooting night for Okarche as the team shot just 19-percent from the floor and 20-percent from three-point range, altogether totaling just eight made field goals.

The Warriors and OCA battled in the first quarter, OCA taking a 9-7 lead before Okarche produced its lowest scoring total for a quarter this year, dropping just two points in the second as OCA grabbed a nine-point lead at halftime.

Okarche responded, however, scoring 14 points after the break while holding the Eagle to nine and cutting the lead to four points. OCA held on late, though, outscoring the Warriors 10-9 down the stretch.

Sophomore Madison Owens led the team with nine points while going 6-for-8 from the free-throw line.

Senior Kassidy Rother scored seven points, including one from three-point range.
Junior Rachel McDowell and freshman Karsyn Vallerand each scored five points ad junior Raegan Robinson and senior Jade Owens each scored three points.

The Warriors pulled down 23 rebounds in the game.

Vallerand and Rother led the way with five boards each while Jade Owens grabbed four. Madison Owens and Robinson finished with three apiece. Robinson also finished with two assists while Rother dished out one.

Vallerand led the team with four steals on the defensive end while McDowell, Robinson and Madison Owens each finished with two takeaways.

During the Warriors’ win streak, they knocked off a pair of ranked teams, including Class B No. 2 Lomega and then-ranked No. 13 Cashion from Class 2A.

Okarche will look to bounce back when the team returns from Christmas break with a match up against Oklahoma Bible Academy Jan. 4 at home. The Warriors will then take a week off before the Three Rivers Conference Tournament Jan. 10-12.
