James Michael Hau died January 10, 2019 at the Veterans Center in Norman.
The prayer service was 7 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 15) at Holy Trinity Church in Okarche. Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 16) also at the church with Rev. Francis Nguyen and Deacon Max Schwarz officiating. Burial with military honors was in Holy Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
He was born Aug. 16, 1922 in Okarche and lived there most of his life. He was a cabinet and trim carpenter and a member of Holy Trinity Church and the Knights of Columbus.
His wife of 67 years, Leona Catherine (Barthelme) Hau, preceded him in death on March 17, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Anna (Hennessey) Hau; sons, Kevin Hau and Jim Hau; and a brother, William Hau.
Jim is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Sandy Hau, Tom and JoAnna Hau, Mike Hau, Ed and Judy Hau, Byron and Melonie Hau. Jerry and Julie Hau, Ronnie and Donya Hau; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Bowers, Jeanie and Luke Schoen, Connie and Dale Braden; sisters, Mary Agnes Barthelme, Pat Barrett and Mildred Lodes; 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
