A visitation for Roy Joseph Schweitzer will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Benson Memorial Chapel. The service will be 10 a.m., Friday, also in the chapel with Deacon Lloyd Menz officiating.
Burial will follow in the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. Mr. Schweitzer died January 28, 2019, at Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City.
He was born May 14, 1936, at Calumet, the son of Joseph Theodore and Sophie Jane (Reimers) Schweitzer. He graduated from Calumet High School and Draughon School of Business. Roy was an auditor for the State of Oklahoma retiring with 44 years of service and served on the directors board of the Oklahoma Employees Credit Union.
On July 20, 1957, he and Barbara Statton were married in Calumet. Barbara survives him.
Roy is also survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Dawna Schweitzer-Schultz and her husband, Alan of Fort Worth, Tex., Patricia Schweitzer and husband, Lytle Caldwell of Yukon, and Gloria McClure and husband, Matthew, also of Yukon; brother, Loyd Schweitzer of Yukon; 6 grandchildren, Courtney, Joseph, Erin, Jacob, Abby and Peyton; and 4 great-granddaughters, Briley, Sofia, Ava and Olivia.
