The Kroener boys will be setting up their fireworks stand this week and open as early as June 27.
Sam, Will, Jake and Andrew Kroener pitched in some hard work last year for their first fireworks business with a little help from dad Jason Kroener.
Kroener said they had hoped to be set sooner, but the weather was a problem.
“We’re a little delayed due to this harvest being late,” he said. “The yield has been good, but it’s just been slow with all the mud. The stand will get set up this weekend and we’ll start on the 27th or 28th.”
Last year the boys helped stock shelves, organize inventory, load inventory onto the trailer and learned about overcoming inclement weather. A storm took out the stand last year and the family had to rebuild it.
“The boys learned a lot,” Kroener said. “They learned about themselves and about the fireworks and about business in general. All the proceeds went to their little college fund.”
