Okarche’s fast pitch softball schedule released, Warriors set to go after successful fall

Piedmont’s top-ranked boys cross country The Okarche Warriors 2019 fast pitch softball schedule has been released with the team’s season opener scheduled for Aug. 12 against Ninnekah.

Prior to taking on the Owls to open the regular season slate at home at 4 p.m., the Warriors will scrimmage three times – at Crescent July 31, at Watonga Aug 2 and against Covington Douglass Aug. 10.

Okarche hits the road for the first time to take on Cashion Aug. 13, part of a back-to-back to kick off the season. The Warriors will return to Cashion two days later to take part in the 2019 Cashion Tournament Aug. 15-17 before returning home to host Calumet on Aug. 19.

The Warriors travel to Chickasha for their second tournament of the year – the 2019 Ninnekah Tournament Aug. 22-24 before taking the Owls and Union City at Union City Aug. 26 to start a set of three straight road games that continues at Oklahoma Bible Academy Aug. 29 and end at Pioneer Aug. 30.

After a five-day break, the Warriors return home to host Kingfisher Sept. 5 before traveling to Calumet Sept. 6 to finish off a back-to-back. After another five-day break, Okarche hits the road to play in the 2019 Pioneer Tournament Sept. 12-14 before returning home to host Union City Sept. 16.

Coach Brandon Treece’s team travels to Geary Sept. 17 for its final road game of the year before returning home to host Alex and Binger Sept. 19 and Cashion Sept. 23 to close out the regular season.

The 2019 district tournaments are scheduled for Sept. 26-27 and the regional tournaments are scheduled for Oct. 3-5. The 2019 state tournament is scheduled for Oct. 10-12.

Okarche went 6-23 last fall, falling to Hydro-Eakly in the final two games of the district tournament. The Warriors follwed with 12 wins and finished over .500 in the spring slow pitch season before falling to Binger-Oney in the district tournament.
