No. 20 Okarche is set for the first round of the 2019 Class A fall baseball postseason this weekend.

The Warriors (14-8) have been assigned to No. 13 Amber-Pocasset’s district tournament site along with Union City and Drummond.

Okarche split a pair of games against the Panthers (17-6) this season, losing a regular season match up 7-3 on the road and winning 9-5 in the Labor Day Tournament at Hydro. The Warriors were scheduled to take on Drummond (4-22) in the final game of the season, but it was canceled. They also did not play Union City (9-7).

Okarche opens the tournament Thursday at 12 p.m. against Union City in Game 2 following Game 1 between Amber-Pocasset and Drummond. The winners face each other in Game 3 at 2 p.m. while the losers square off at 5:30 p.m. in Game 4. The winner of Game 4 moves on to face the loser of Game 3 Friday at 2 p.m. with the winner moving on to face the semifinals winner in the championship at 4:30 p.m. An if-game is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The winner of the district tournament moves on to one of four regional tournaments next weekend at sites yet to be determined. The regional winners and second-place finishers punch their tickets to the 2019 Class A state tournament Oct. 10-12.
