The 2019 Class A district assignments are out and Okarche will be hosting this postseason.
The Warriors (7-17) play host to Alex (10-11) and Waukomis (15-15) this weekend in a double-elimination, three-team bracket to decide who moves on to the regional tournament next week.
Okarche opens up the tournament with Game 1 against Alex at 1 p.m. Thursday. The loser of the game faces Waukomis at 3 p.m. and the winner faces Waukomis at 5 p.m.
One of Okarche’s seven wins came against Alex, a 5-4 victory on Sept. 19. The Warriors did not face Waukomis this season.
After the three games have been played, if one team has no losses and another team has one, they will square off to decide the tournament champion at 11 a.m. Friday with an if-game scheduled afterwards. If all three teams finish with one loss then the exact schedule will be replicated Friday with start times at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Each of the 32 district tournament winners move on to one of eight, double-elimination regional tournaments next week with the winners then moving on to the Class A state tournament Oct. 10-12.
