Okarche area grocery stores were bare of essentials Sunday, with shortages of toilet paper area-wide.
Some stores limited the number of items per customer, such as with the cleaning supplies, a manager at the Kingfisher grocery store said Sunday.
At United Supermarket in Kingfisher, 1215 S Main, manager Brandi Walters said the store was open Sunday night and busy.
“We’re still doing normal hours, the first hour we are open is dedicated to the elderly and disabled Monday through Saturday at 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
“We’ve been extremely busy until we have to close the doors,” Walters said.
She said the store had no toilet paper and no flour.
Other items were in stock.
“Our meat manager has been amazing, he’s been making more ground meat than normal,” Walters said.
The store also had plenty of canned goods on the shelves.
“If you know anyone who needs canned goods send them our way, we have plenty of canned goods,” Walters said.
Shelves were empty of toilet paper in Piedmont and Yukon Sunday. Items such as sour cream was also hard to find.
