Following Gov. Stitt’s state “Open Up and Recover Safely Plan,” Okarche trustees have plans to reopen businesses and services that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Town Hall remains closed to the public.
Churches will be allowed to reopen for services Sunday as long as space is provided on the pews. Restaurants can reopen Friday for dining in.
The Okarche emergency proclamation has been amended to reflect the state plan that was announced April 22.
The plan will set a “three-phase approach to reopening Oklahoma’s economy, according the the Okarche proclamation signed by Mayor Jeff Sadler.
At the Tower Cafe in Okarche, Craig Hubbard said he expects the cafe to return to being open for dining in by Monday. His mother, owner Louise Hubbard, said loyal customers have kept them open for business with drive-thru orders. The cafe is known for their old-fashioned cinnamon rolls.
At the Countyline Prime, 226 W Oklahoma Ave., a recorded message says the restaurant will open for curbside service only from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 1 and on Saturday, May 2 for roadhouse barbecue brisket.
Eischen’s dining room will remain closed. Bars also remain closed. A statement from Eischen’s reads: We can’t wait to see our customers in our dining room, however we have made the choice to continue offering take out food only. “
