From Staff Reports
The 27 Okarche High School seniors will get to have a graduation ceremony after all.
While the plans were changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the closing of buildings at the end of the semester delayed the date, a graduation will take place.
Seniors will be honored at 7 p.m. Friday, June 5, with a ceremony at the Okarche High School gymnasium, 632 W Oklahoma Ave.
“Barring any changes in guidelines put forth by the CDC, the State of Oklahoma, or the Department of Education, each student will be allowed to bring a maximum of 4 guests to the graduation ceremony. If problems do arise, the number of guests allowed could be reduced,’ the district reported on Facebook.
“CDC guidelines will be enforced, which means OPS will be doing our part to encourage social distancing,” the district reports.
The ceremony will be livestreamed on okarchewarriors.tv.
“Okarche High School is excited to celebrate the successes of our senior class. They have worked hard for this accomplishment and deserve the best,” the district reported in a recent Facebook post.
