Improvements at the Okarche Municipal Pool have been made this summer, including a new sign that is now up.

The sign was recently installed by the public works crew. The pool has been busy since opening this year with precautions in place.

Okarche Town Trustees voted in May to open the pool for the summer at Iowa Avenue and S Sixth Street.

The pool is open at noon to 6:30 p.m., closed on Mondays.

Pool manager Kelli Neuenschwander said the pool has been appreciated this year.
“We are so excited for all of the upgrades we have done to the pool and so thankful that we were able to open this summer,” Neuenschwander said.

The swimming pool reopened May 22. Work was done to install new awnings for shade and repaint the pool,

Staff members are taking extra precautions due to COVID-19, Mayor Jeff Sadler said.

The pool capacity is usually about 130 people, but this year capacity is 60 people allowed at one time.

A date to close the pool for the season has not been announced yet.

To reach the pool call (405) 368-4545.
