Ninth COVID-19 death reported in Canadian County

Two more people have died of COVID-19 in Canadian County, bringing the death toll in the county to nine since the pandemic began in March, the Oklahoma Department of Health reports.

The latest deaths are in Yukon and Mustang.

Yukon has had five deaths, Mustang two deaths, Piedmont, one death and El Reno has had one death.

Canadian County has had 1,238 cases with 1,050 people having recovered.

On Wednesday, the health department reported 666 cases in Yukon with 570 people having recovered.

Mustang has had 206 cases with 173 people recovered.

El Reno reports 185 cases and 151 people recovered.

Piedmont has had 82 cases and 74 people recovered.

Okarche has had 27 cases and 24 people recovered.

Of those who have died in Oklahoma, data shows 78.9% of the victims are in an age group of 65 and older. The age group 50 years old to 64 years old has had 16.6% of state COVID-19 deaths. Ages 36 to 49, 2.7% of deaths, and 18-35, 1.4% of the deaths.

Oklahoma has had 44,728 cases with 37,193 people recovered. There have been 618 deaths in the state from the virus, the heath department reports.
