Okarche Schools have no current cases of COVID-19 reported by students or staff in the district, Superintendent Josh Sumrall said Wednesday morning.
The school district for grades pre-K to 12th grade opened for in-person learning on Thursday, Aug. 13. Students attend school five days a week in all grades.
Several people who had been in contact with others with positive COVID-19 cases were quarantined during the first two weeks of school, but classes are going smoothly since then, Sumrall said Wednesday.
The district has 395 students this fall.
Meanwhile, there have been 35 cases of COVID-19 reported in Okarche, no deaths and 31 people recover, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
In Kingfisher there have been 100 cases with 79 people recovering and no deaths.
Kingfisher County has had 289 cases, 2 deaths and 244 people recover.
Canadian County has had 1,644 cases, 13 deaths and 1,451 people recover, the health department reported Wednesday. The Okarche Schools district is in both Canadian and Kingfisher counties.
