Sales tax revenue in Okarche dipped for September compared to last year, the Oklahoma Tax Commission reports.
The sales tax revenue for September, 2020 is $58,504, down $41,452 compared to 2019, a 41% decrease.
Okarche sales tax revenue for September, 2019 came in at $99,956, the tax commission reports.
Okarche businesses are located in both Kingfisher and Canadian counties, with the north side of the county line on Oklahoma Avenue.
Sales tax revenue is Canadian County in September, 2019 was $57,656 and in Kingfisher County, $42,300, the tax commission reports.
But in 2020, the revenue was $34,892 in Canadian County and $23,612 in Kingfisher County.
The sales tax amount for Okarche from both counties in August was $95,655, the tax commission reported.
For use tax, Okarche revenue is $14,211 for September. In 2019, the amount was $11,144.
In August, 2020 Okarche use tax was $14,211.
Use tax has shown increases during the pandemic in Kingfisher County as more people order from home, officials said.
The town has budgeted accordingly for fluctuations of sales tax and use tax revenues, town treasurer Brian Schieber told trustees at a recent meeting.
