Okarche has first COVID-19 deaths

The first deaths in Okarche from COVID-19 have been reported by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

There have been 24 deaths from the virus in Canadian County since March, and five deaths in Kingfisher County the health department reports.

Okarche has had two people die, 72 cases and 59 people recover from the virus. Both people who died from Okarche lived in Kingfisher County, the health department reports.

Canadian County has had 4,232 cases of COVID-19 with 3,522 people having recovered, the health department reported.

Kingfisher County has had five deaths, 595 cases and 516 people recover from the virus since March.

Yukon leads Canadian County in the number of deaths in cities in the county with nine reported. There have been 2,069 cases of COVID-19 in Yukon and 1,758 people recover, health department data shows.

El Reno has had eight deaths, 940 cases and 729 people recover.

Four people have died of COVID-19 in Mustang with 696 cases and 596 people recovering.

Piedmont has had three deaths reported, 286 cases and 257 people recover.

The City of Kingfisher has had one death from the virus, 252 cases and 200 people recover.

Hennessey has had two deaths, 197 cases and 185 people recover.
