Joel Hamby Frisby III

The world lost a great man. A wonderful husband, father, son, and friend who loved his family more than anything else, Joel Hamby Frisby, III, died peacefully on Monday, November 30 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

If he wasn’t at home with his family, Joe could be found on the road traveling for work. He loved his job at Samco Enterprises – where he had been proudly working for over 40 years. Perhaps he was better known as “Samco Joe.” He knew the importance of family and working for the family business was one of his greatest joys in life.

He never met a stranger and could talk to anyone about anything at any time. Joe loved to talk sports, the weather, and anything in between. He served on Okarche’s city council and wanted nothing more than to better the community in which he lived. He would do anything for anyone, had a robust laugh, and always gave of himself for others – cracking one liners to keep everyone laughing for days.

Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Lion’s Club and loved to golf – even if he wasn’t that great. He loved to travel with family and friends almost as much as he loved tailgating in Stillwater on OSU gamedays.

Joe will fondly be remembered by family and friends as someone who loved life, loved his family, and could bring a smile to anyone’s face.

He is survived by loving wife, Kimberly Frisby and kids, Kylie and Hunter Frisby. He is also survived by his parents, Joel and Nancy Frisby, brother, Tim and wife Nicola and nephews Ian and Finn and several loving cousins and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be given to Joe’s home parish, Holy Trinity Catholic Church (211 Missouri Avenue Okarche, OK 73762) or the Center of Family Love in Okarche (635 Texas Avenue Okarche, OK 73762). A private family service to celebrate his life will be held.

He would want nothing more than for you to crack open a cold beer in his honor. So, let’s all raise a glass – cheers to Joe until we meet again.
