Several grades are under quarantine at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Okarche, Principal Alice Newman reports.

In a letter to school patrons, Newman reported that six classes are affected.

“There have been some updates in the COVID-19 quarantine situation. As of now, the PreK3, PreK4, Kindergarten,1st, 5th and 6th grades will be in quarantine until Dec.14.”

Parents of those students affected will receive a more detailed letter Wednesday, Newman reported.

Grades second, third, fourth, seventh and eighth were in school Wednesday.

“It is our goal to teach students face-to-face as much as possible. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed of any changes,” Newman reports.

Students who are quarantined will be allowed to return to school on Dec. 15 without having to take a COVID-19 test.

Two students in Okarche’s Holy Trinity Catholic School have tested positive for COVID-19, Principal Alice Newman reported.

The school closed before Thanksgiving.

The school learned of one of the student’s test results on Saturday, Nov. 7, Newman reported.

“As our country fights the spread of COVID-19, we believe one of our greatest responsibilities is to communicate transparently and often with you, our school community.

It is our hope that accurate and up-to-date correspondence will help you make well-informed decisions for your family. Nothing is more important to Holy Trinity than the safety and health of our students, our employees and their families. When we work together, we can provide the best care for all involved,” Newman stated in a letter to patrons.
