The winners for the Kingfisher County 25th annual essay contest hosted by the Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority have been announced, according to Okarche Public Schools English teachers.
Winners for the 8th grade level were Okarche students Brenna Crider, first place; Kylie Harper, second place; and Katy Creswell, third place.
The seventh grade winners were Okarche students Jaici Easton, first place; Ethan Kirby, second place; and Addison Mingus, third place.
The 7th and 8th grade English teachers are Lyndal Westmoreland and Traci Fuller.
The first place winners advance to the state level competition.
