Okarche park has recently installed new playground equipment at the park near 6th and Iowa Avenue and Eischen and 2nd.
A teeter-totter on springs is big enough for four. An oversized swing seat makes swinging comfortable and falling out harder. A playground motorcycle for a tot awaits a rider.
The playground upgrades were approved late last year and the work completed during the winter despite any weather delays from ice, snow or freezing cold.
Okarche Town Trustees approved the purchase of the equipment from KOMPAN Playgrounds of Austin, Texas about $38,500 at a September meeting.
Work started for the installation in December and some winter weather held it up before public works crews finished the jobs. Warmer weather is ahead and the opening of the Okarche Municipal Pool.
