Okarche’s sales tax revenue made a U-turn, and headed in the right direction for May.
There were consecutive months of downturn during the pandemic, but finally some good news from the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
The May 2021 sales tax revenue is $57,339 compared to $47,214 in May 2020.
The May disbursement is for sales tax collections from March and an estimate of April collections.
In April, sales tax revenue was $47,378.
The use tax revenue for May 2021 is $16,018 compared to $10,801 in May 2020.
In April 2020 sales tax revenue was $78,651. That is a decrease of $31,273, 39%.
There is good news in the use tax revenue reported for April.
Town trustees have recently raised water rates for residents as costs for the system have exceeded revenues.
Meanwhile, the use tax disbursement was up in April, the tax commission reports. The use tax was $11,195 for April 2021 compared to $7,580 in April 2020. April sales and use tax revenues reported by the tax commission are for February and part of March.
Okarche sales tax revenue continued to drop in March compared to recent months, the Oklahoma Tax Commission reports.
The March sales tax revenue was $59,488, the tax commission reports. It was $73,085 for March, 2020.
The 2021 check for March is from sales tax revenues generated in January and part of February, and it is decrease of $13,597 compared to last year, or a drop of 18.60%.
The economy began to take a downturn by April, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Okarche’s use tax revenue for March, 2021 is $9,863, compared to $16,933 last year, 2020, a decrease of $7,070 or 41.75%.
Okarche’s sales tax revenue dropped in February, the Oklahoma Tax Commission reported.
Okarche’s sales tax revenue from both Canadian and Kingfisher counties is for $46,017 compared to February 2020 when it was $115,560, a decrease of $69,543, or 60.17%
Okarche use tax revenue deposit for February was $20,269 compared to February 2020 when it was $22,247, down $1,978 this year, or 8.89%.
The Town of Okarche sales tax revenues continued a downward trend that started during the pandemic and has continued for January, 2021.
The January deposit from the Oklahoma Tax Commission for Okarche is $67,060 compared to $80,435 in January, 2020.
