Okarche’s Lady Warriors are off to a strong start this season.

In the Lady Warriors’ 57-48 win over Preston in the season opener, Emma Stover led the way with a game-high 25 points as Okarche broke open a 24-24 halftime tie with a strong second half.

Adyson Arms chipped in nine points. Jalie Rother added eight.

Tuesday at Calumet, Sophie Vanderdriessche scored 17 to pace Okarche in its 60-43 victory. Rother had 12, Arms put in 11 and Stover scored eight.

The Warriors, meanwhile are 0-2, after a 72-58 loss to Preston in the opener followed by a 69-63 loss at Calumet Tuesday evening.

Hot shooting from beyond the arc helped the Pirates past OHS in the season opener.

Preston hit 10 of 28 3-pointers. Okarche made 3 of 19. Evan Endres had 13 points to lead Okarche.

At Calumet, the Warriors battled foul trouble in the second half, and despite 14 points from P.K. Harris and 11 more from Brayden Stover, could not hang on to a 32-30 halftime lead.

The Chieftains Hunter Arnold scored 29 points to lead all scorers. Matthew Snyder added 22.

Okarche travels to Lomega Friday night.
