Father Cory Stanley of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche has tested positive for COVID-19, he reported to parishioners on Sunday, Nov. 14.
“Unfortunately, when I went for my “pre-travel” COVID test this morning, I tested COVID-19 positive. Yesterday, I had a mild cough, but no other symptoms. I still have a mild cough and I feel slightly achy. I have been in contact today with our Archdiocesan priest nurse and my own physician. I am quarantining for at least the next 10 days at the rectory in Okarche,” Stanley reported
Stanley said he had two COVID-19 vaccines.
On Tuesday, November 9, after weekend events he tested negative for COVID-19. He said he also took the antibody test on November 9 and did not have the antibody. He received both doses of the Moderna vaccine earlier this year.
Other priests are assisting at the Okarche church in the meanwhile.
In a note to parishioners, Stanley wrote, “Please also say a special prayer for the sick, the dying, and for those assisting them in the hospitals.”
Stanley said he was recovering Monday at the rectory.
