The drive toward the state tournament for Okarche’s basketball teams was scheduled to kick into high gear tonight at Tulsa’s Regent Prep School.

Mother Nature had other plans. The regional tournament was pushed back a day due to a winter storm and Okarche’s game will now be played Friday evening.

The second-ranked Lady Warriors (22-2) coasted past Drumright for a district title behind 18 points from Jalie Rother and 16 more from Emma Stover and will now face Wellston (10-10) Friday at 6:30.

Stuart or Ripley will await the Lady Warriors in the regional title game scheduled for Monday night at Regent Prep.

The No. 17 Warriors, meanwhile, also face Wellston (14-8) at 8 p.m. on Friday. P.K. Harris put in a season-high 27 points as Okarche cruised past Yale 73-45 in the district title game.

If the boys win, they’ll play either Stuart or Dewar Monday night in the regional title game at Regent Prep.
