David Lee Kremeier

David (Dave) Lee Kremeier was born June 19, 1946, to Henry H. and Agnes M. (Schroeder) Kremeier in El Reno, Oklahoma. He passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, while living in Weatherford, Oklahoma, at the age of 76.

Dave grew up and graduated from Okarche High School before joining the United States Air Force Reserves. He was united in marriage to Linda Zacharias (Stuard) in Hiawatha, Kansas, on March 18, 1972.

He worked as a truck driver hauling cattle for a number of years before moving into the oil industry, where he worked as a driver hauling petroleum products before moving up to take on additional responsibilities as an oil supply engineer. He returned to truck driving as an owner/operator for cross-country and long-haul services after moving to Casper, Wyoming. After a number of successful years, he retired from the over-the-road lifestyle and moved to Geary, Oklahoma, where he continued to drive locally until 2015. He was a member of the Lutheran Church in Watonga.

More than anything, Dave loved the open road driving a big rig. Following his retirement, he spent his days with his sidekick, Mr. Wiggins, a frequent visitor to the Cherokee Truck Stop, where he happily shared photos of his grandson, Preston.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Agnes Kremeier; and siblings, James and Donna Kremeier.

Survivors include his sons, Scott Kremeier, wife Karen and grandson Preston of Chicago, Illinois, and Lance Kremeier of Madison, Wisconsin; sister, Wanda Moeller of Okarche, Oklahoma; brother, Warren Earl Kremeier and wife Paula of Grain Valley, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held at Hinton Turner Funeral Home, Friday, June 24, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Hinton, Oklahoma.

Services will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Okarche, Oklahoma, with Rev. Joel Heckmann officiating. Burial will be in Saint John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Okarche, Oklahoma.
