Lonny Dean Tech was born in Okarche, Oklahoma, on Sept. 1, 1970, to Bill R. and Carol Jean (Schroder) Tech. Lonny passed away on July 12, 2022, in Calumet, Oklahoma, at the age of 51.
He grew up in the Calumet area and lived and worked there all his life. He worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, was a farmer, a rancher, worked at Eischen’s Restaurant and Bar for 14 years, worked at Temtrol in Okarche for 14+ years and was an excellent chef. He really liked to experiment with his cooking, often baking from scratch and putting his own spin on his dishes. He was always happy to be cooking, grilling or baking for his family.
During his time as a mail carrier, he helped out the older folks on his route when needed, put boxes of chocolates in the mailboxes for the widows on Valentine’s Day and used to mark fliers and catalogs with things that he liked, saying, “Your mailman would really enjoy this.”
Lonny enjoyed the old westerns with John Wayne and cooking shows. He did enjoy travelling, always had a good time, always took his faithful companion Dixie with him. Lonny’s greatest love was his son, Logan, and his family was everything to him. He spent the last years of his father Bill Tech’s life taking care of him until his passing.
He enjoyed rides with Dixie and anyone who was willing to load up and go, looking at sunsets and sharing his pictures. He always checked on his neighbors and made sure to make others happy with his random surprise acts of kindness.
