Charles Kremeier, 71 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on Jan. 25, 2023, surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.
Charles Kremeier was born April 2, 1951, in Okarche, Oklahoma, to Lester F.W. Kremeier and Ruby Jean Kremeier.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester F.W. Kremeier and Ruby Jean Kremeier; and his brother, Les Kremeier. He is survived by his four brothers and their spouses, Leon and Vondel Kremeier of Wichita Kansas, Richard and Mary Kremeier of Piedmont, Oklahoma, Eddie and Sherry Kremeier of Royse, City, Texas, and Jerry and Trina Kremeier of Canton, Kansas; his two children, Brian Kremeier and fiancé Ellen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Halie Wiese and her spouse Adam of West Des Moines, Iowa; grandkids, Dylan Kremeier, Raiden Kremeier, Denton Kremeier, Spencer Wiese and Joslin Wiese; his ex-wife and long-time friend, Brenda Kremeier of Yukon, Oklahoma, and her children, Jennifer, Zac and Jesse, along with her grandkids, Maci, Olivia, Ryane, Trey, Cole, Gavin and Deacon. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Charles attended St John’s elementary school and then graduated from Okarche High School in 1969. During his younger days and through school, Charles was busy working on a dairy farm, helping raise his brothers and playing sports. Charles played basketball, baseball and was in FFA.
Charles married Patricia Haggy in 1970 and eventually settled down in Cordell, Oklahoma. They had two children, Brian and Halie. He owned and operated Cordell Metal Buildings and Redi-Mix along with CK Oilfield Services. After his divorce from Pat, he married Eileen Schmidt and moved to a farm outside of Cordell. There he farmed, raised cattle and continued his construction business. He was a long-time member of the Cordell Mennonite Brethren Church, serving in many roles including the youth program AWANA, where he served as director, usher, sound system and drove the van for Sunday school. After his divorce from Eileen he married Brenda Farris and moved to Yukon, Oklahoma. It was there that he worked briefly with his brother Eddie in telecommunications before taking a job with the firm Love, Beal and Nixon. He made numerous friends during his time there, many of which kept in touch with him up until his passing. In 2014, Charles moved to Herington, Kansas, to work with his brother Les in the oil and gas industry.
After the passing of his brother Les in 2016, Charles continued his work in oil and gas, turning Kremeier Productions into CK Oil and Gas and continued this work until he became ill in April of 2022. Charles loved his time in Herington and cherished the friendships he made there. In May of 2022, Charles moved in with his son Brian and fiancé Ellen and was cared for there until his passing.
Charles’s hobbies included fishing, hunting, traveling to and staying in Branson, everything Oklahoma Sooners and, most importantly, spending time with family and friends. Charles loved OU football and attended many games with Brian, Dylan, Raiden and Denton. Family was so important to Charles, and it was his mission in life to take care of his family. His impact on his family will last for generations. Rest in Peace, Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and many “Friends.”
The viewing will be at Yanda and Son Funeral Home in Yukon, Oklahoma, on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 5 from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Okarche, Oklahoma, on Monday, Feb. 6 at 11 a.m., with burial following at the Lutheran Cemetery in Okarche.
