Anyone interested in fishing, hunting and the great outdoors will have the opportunity to celebrate those activities this weekend, as the Oklahoma Tackle, Hunting & Boat Show takes center stage at Canadian County Expo & Event Center.

The show is set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will offer a wealth of products and information, said Vance Montgomery with Montgomery Productions/Vanmar Outdoors. Offerings include:

  • Seminars by professional guides and other professionals
  • New sportsman’s products
  • Bulk discount tackle
  • The “Fetch-n-Fish” Dog Show
  • Boat deals
  • Live cornhole tournament

“We cater to the fishing and hunting industry and the people who love these sports and activities,” Montgomery said Tuesday. “We have lots of products that are just coming out on the market that we want to introduce.”

Among those are things like electronics developed specifically for fishing, like LiveScope. Hunters will also find plenty of products and information – and seminars and talks will be held by guides and other professionals on a range of topics, from specialty fishing, hunting and much more, Montgomery said.

Also included are activities for children, among them the fan favorite “Fetch-n-Fish Dog Show.

The show will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. General admission is $10; cost for senior and military is $7 and children ages 6-12 admission is $4.

Montgomery’s partner started the tackle, hunting and boat show about 37 years ago – at that time called the Oklahoma Tackle Show. About 23 years ago Montgomery joined the operation, taking it over fully after his partner’s death about 15 years ago.

In the years since, the show has been held in Pryor and Canadian County and draws attendees not only from across Oklahoma but from as far away as Alaska and Florida, Montgomery said.
