Okarche’s Brett Carnott got to practice his home run trot during the Warriors’ 8-0 win Saturday.

The first fall baseball season in the new Okarche complex opened Saturday, with an 8-0 Warrior win over the Leedey Bison.

In the bottom of the third inning, with the Warriors up 2-0 and two on base, pitcher Brett Carnott knocked a ball into the gray, overcast sky above left field.

“I did not think it was getting out at first,” Carnott said. “I looked up and it was gone. Took a trot.”

Brett Carnott also pitched for OHS Saturday in the 8-0 whitewash of traditional small-school power Leedey

In the bottom of the second inning, Cody Endres, left fielder, belted a shot to left field that stayed fair, driving in the first run of the game as Endres notched a double.

The Warriors were 3-1 for the fall season after defeating Leedey following wins over Fort Cobb and Lomega on the road.

The Warriors played a second game Saturday against Hydro-Eakly, earning a 4-2 win.

Okarche plays at home at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17 vs. Ripley.
