More than half way through the fall baseball season, the Okarche Warriors and the team finds themselves as hot as the outdoor weather with a 12-2 record.

The team plays in the Okarche Festival Friday, Sept. 8.

The team was ranked #10 in Class A as of the beginning of September.

In their Friday, Sept. 1 game against Calumet at home the Warriors won 7-6. But it took a come-from-behind effort to do it as the Warriors trailed the Calumet Chieftains 6-3 in the top of the fourth inning. The Warriors tied it up at 6-6  taking walks and fielder’s choices to advance runners and drive in runs.

Then in the top of the fifth inning, Ryder Lykins hit a home run to left field, giving the Warriors the go-ahead lead that held up for the night.

Back home was a 5 p.m. home game with Lookeba-Sickles 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7.

The Okarche Festival begins at home, 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8. The Warriors play Glencoe at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. against Frontier.
