A berth in the state Class A baseball tournament was on the line Friday as Okarche faced the Tushka Tigers in Oktaha.
Okarche won the game 6-1 to earn a spot in the tournament.
In the third inning the Warriors took a 2-1 lead on a line drive single to right field by Jett Mueggenborg, scoring Easton Roby. Ethan Kirby scored on a wild pitch and the inning ended 3-1 in Okarche’s favor.
Okarche had a two run lead going into the bottom of the fourth inning.

Thursday’s heroics
It took a game-saving catch in the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday afternoon by shortstop Easton Roby gave the Okarche Warriors baseball team a chance to secure a berth in the state tournament.
But Oktaha, the host of the regional tournament in the Muskogee County town, won a late game Thursday, 7-4, to force a Friday game for the Warriors.
Okarche played Tushka after Tushka defeated Hydro-Eakly Friday.
In the Thursday night game, Oktaha took the lead in the third inning, but Okarche tied it in the top of the fourth with a double from Brett Carnott and singles by Jett Mueggenborg and Cody Endres.
Oktaha stole five bases in the loss, and Okarche’s offense stalled.
In the first game Thursday, Okarche won 4-3 over Tushka.
The game was tied in the top of the seventh when Luke Hill grounded out and drove in the winning run. Shortstop Easton Roby made a game-saving, over-the-shoulder, snare of a fly ball in the bottom of the seventh for the second out and an infield ground out secured the win for the Warriors.
