Okarche basketball travels to Lomega

Lady Warriors lose 55-53. Boys almost score 100 points

Looking to notch their first win in the young season Friday night, the Okarche teams faced Lomega on the road.

The girls trailed by five points, 46-41 after three quarters. A basketball from Madison Nance cut the Raiders lead to two-points late in the fourth quarter, 50-48. The game was tied at 53-53 with 18 seconds left but ended in Lomega’s favor, 55-53. The Lady Warriors fell to 0-2 on the season.

The boys improved to 1-1 with a 95-43 victory.

The boys jumped out to a 20-6 lead over Omega in the first quarter. They had extended it to 59-31 with less than seven minutes left in the third quarter.

Both boys’ and girls’ teams dropped their season openers to Preston at home.
