
Okarche’s basketball teams split games with Cashion Tuesday night. The boys won 82-45 over the Wildcats who were ranked #11 in Class 2A.
The Okarche girls battled behind a 13-point effort from Jadyn Rother but lost 37-30.
In the second quarter, Scout Payne drained a 3-pointer as the Lady Warriors took a 9-7 lead, and the girls were able to stay within 10-points during most of the game against the 13th-ranked Cashion girls in Class 2A.
Boys improved to 20-4
The Okarche boys were led by Jett Mueggenborg’s 21-point effort in their win Tuesday.
The boys have been ranked as high as #4 in Class A with a 20-4 record.

The boys lost to Calumet 55-51 on Jan. 30 and then fell to Hennessey 64-60 on Feb. 1. They bounced back to beat Fairview 76-46 Feb. 3.
The teams will have byes in the first round of play in the district tournament Feb. 8-10.
The Okarche girls will play a district opener at 6 p.m. Saturday and the boys will follow with their first district game at home, 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
