Okarche baseball downs #4th ranked Arapaho-Butler

The Okarche Warriors baseball team defeated a top-ranked team Friday night with a 4-0 win over Arapaho-Butler.

Okarche has been ranked third in Class A by the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association
And they faced the fourth-ranked team Friday, Sept. 6  at home with Arapaho-Butler in town.

The Warriors were 11-2 going into the game, and Arapaho-Butler had a record of 13-3 this fall. In the top of the third inning Okarche4 had a 1-0 lead. A single by Brett Carnott extended the lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the third inning and they took a 4-0 lead into the seventh. Easton Roby finished the game on the mound and earned the win, surrendering just two hits.

Jett Mueggenborg singled in the bottom of the second. Ethan Kirby singled, and with two on Ryder Lykins was hit by a pitch.

Drummond drumming

They notched their 11th win of the fall when they blasted Drummond 16-1 Thursday, Sept. 5.

After the baseball team dropped close games against top teams in Class A in the Oktaha Tournament, the Warriors blew past Union City 16-3 on Aug. 29. Their record after the Hydro-Eakly win was 10-2. Luke Hill had four hits in five trips to the plate Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the softball team stood at 9-7 after Labor Day. On Saturday, Aug. 31 the girls fell to Blackwell 4-2.

The Warriors were 6-2 on Monday, Aug. 26 starting the week with another tournament at Calumet.

The Warriors lost to Rattan 7-6 on Friday, Aug. 23 and to Wister 11-9 on Saturday, Aug. 24, but bounced back from the losses on Monday, Aug. 26, beating Vici at home 7-2.

Okarche softball won two games Thursday, Sept. 5

 The Lady Warriors fall fastpitch softball record was 11-7 after two wins on Thursday, Sept. 5.

In the Cimarron Tournament Thursday, Sept. 5, the Lady Warriors beat Waynoka 12-0 and Carney 4-3The Lady Warriors hosted Drummond at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 and Arapaho-Butler Friday, Sept 6 before traveling to Fort Cobb-Broxton for a game Monday, Sept. 9.

In the win over Carney Sept 5, the Lady Warriors fell behind 3-0 before their comeback. In the bottom of the third inning Hannah Carnott tripled, scoring two runs. Kyile Harper singled scoring a run and the Lady Warriors regained the lead and held on for the win. Lawson Geheb earned the win on the mound. She allowed one hit and three runs over four innings, striking out seven hitters and walking four batters. Carnott had two RBIs.

Union City baseball win

At Union City Thursday, Aug. 29, the baseball Warriors trailed 3-1 in the bottom of the third inning. They exploded in the fourth inning with eight runs.

Ryder Lykins had a grand slam, extending the lead to 9-3. The Warriors scored seven more runs on four hits in the top of the fifth inning.

The week before, at Oktaha, the Warriors lost on the final play of the tournament Friday, Aug. 23.

They have also beaten a team from the Class A state tournament who they beat in May.

The Warriors played in the Calumet tournament starting Monday, Aug. 26.

The Okache/Am-Po tournament is set to begin Thursday.
