Judd Kroener elected to Okarche town trustee seat

Judd K. Kroener defeated Keith E. Griesel Tuesday for a seat on the Okarche Town Trustee Board.

With all votes counted, Kroener garnered 100 votes, 78.74%, to Griesel’s 27 votes, 21.26%. There were two absentee mail ballots cast in favor of Kroener. All other votes were cast on election day, the Oklahoma State Election Board reported Tuesday night.

Okarche Town Trustees approved a resolution Monday, Nov. 18 calling for a nonpartisan special municipal election for 2025 for two town trustees and the town treasurer.

Okarche’s town treasurer Brian Schieber filed unopposed for the position. He has been the town treasurer 20 years.

The terms for the two town trustees and town treasurer are for four years.

In 2023, Okarche’s trustees voted to expand the board from three members to five at-large members.

Mayor Jeff Sadler did not seek re-election this year. J.D. Mueggenborg filed unopposed for a position on the board.

Trustee seat four held currently by J.D. Mueggenborg was open for reelection this year. Mueggenborg was the only candidate to file so there will be no race needed.
