Okarche earned its second straight victory last Friday, blowing out Dover, 70-20 on the road.
From start to finish it was all Warriors.
Coach Kelli Jennings’ team held Dover to four points in the first, five in the third and zero in the fourth. The Longhorns only eclipsed double digits once with 11 points in the third quarter.
The Warriors offense clicked as well, scoring 30 in the first quarter and 21 in the second, entering halftime with a 51-15 lead. They scored 15 points in the third and dropped 11 unanswered in the final eight minutes.
Four players scored in double digits for Okarche. Junior Marlo Hunt led the way with 17 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the field and 2-for-4 from three-point range. Freshman Karsyn Vallerand scored 14 points on 7-for-11 shooting, junior Raegan Robinson scored 16, including nine from three-point range and senior Kassidy Rother racked up 10 points on 50-percent shooting. Sophomore Madison Owens also chipped in nine points.
Hunt led the way on the boards with five total, including two on the offensive end. She also finished with three steals. Rother pulled down three boards with three steals as well while freshman Adyson Arms grabbed three off the glass. Vallerand and freshman Savannah Mingus each finished with three takeaways as well.
With the win Okarche moves to 2-1 on the season. The team opened the season with a loss at Preston followed by a win over Lomega in the home opener.
The Warriors travel to Harding Fine Arts in Oklahoma City next Tuesday before a week long break. They return from Thanksgiving with their second home game of the year, hosting Dale on Nov. 30.
