Lady Warriors extend win streak to 13 games with conference title

GIRLS BASKETBALL: THREE RIVERS TOURNAMENT

ENID – The Lady Warriors pulled into Enid with a 10-game win streak. They left with 13 straight and a conference tournament championship.

No. 5 Okarche knocked off Class 3A Harding Fine Arts, Thomas-Fay-Custer and 2A No. 14 Cashion for the 2020 Three Rivers Conference championship last weekend at Central National Bank Center.

The Lady Warriors opened with a 74-19 blowout win over Harding last Thursday. Three players scored in double digits, including Emma Stover who led the way with 15 points. Jalie Rother scored 13 and Rachel McDowell scored 12 to help spur the victory. Marlo Hunt scored nine, Raegan Robinson scored eight, Kelsee Brown scored six, Ryen Wittorck and Madison Owens each scored four and Abigayle Johnson scored three.

Okarche turned around and defeated Thomas-Fay-Custer 38-28 in a lower scoring affair.
Robinson led the team with 11 points while McDowell scored eight. Owens chipped in six points, Brown scored four, Rother scored three and Hunt and Sage Griswold each scored two.

The Lady Warrior outscored Thomas-Fay-Custer 13-1 in the first quarter and 10-3 in the second to build a 23-4 lead at halftime.

The Lady Warriors closed out the tournament with a 46-42 championship game win over No. 14 Cashion in overtime Saturday.

Hunt led the way with 19 points, including eight in overtime while Owens scored nine and McDowell chipped in eight. Griswold scored seven points, Brown scored two and Robinson scored one.

The win improved Okarche to 15-1 on the season and marked their 13th straight victory.
Okarche looks to keep its streak alive Friday night against Thomas-Fay-Custer at home before traveling to Hennessey Tuesday night. Each game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 p.m.
