The biggest fundraiser of the year for Holy Trinity Catholic School in Okarche is Saturday, Oct. 28.
It’s time for the Friends of Holy Trinity Catholic School’s annual fundraising auction at 6 p.m. at the school gymnasium, 211 N. Missouri.
In a letter written by Sarah Martin, acquisitions chairperson for the school, the purpose of the fundraiser is explained.
Holy Trinity Catholic School is a nonprofit organization that has been in continuous operation since 1897.
“We rely on tuition, fundraising events and parish support to keep our school beneficial and relevant in today’s world,” Martin’s letter reads.
Each year, the school’s parent association hosts a benefit auction with proceeds to assist in providing the Catholic education. Money is needed to keep technology current, increase educational activities and keep facilities safe and up to date.
“Your overwhelming generosity has helped us to continue to provide a Catholic Christian-based education for our parish and local community.”
The school has recently hosted public meetings to explain the benefits of the new Oklahoma tax credits that can be used toward private, religious school education.
People were asked to donate for the auction by Oct. 13 this year. The cost is $40 per person or $50 at the door.
