Okarche’s trustees have called a special meeting for 5:30 p.m. Monday to review a water use plan for people who live outside the town limits.

Trustees will also review the status of a 2022 audit in their regular monthly meeting that starts at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13.

In the special meeting, trustees will discuss potential water customers concerning the acquisition of water distribution through a system managed by John Schaefer.

The water customers who live outside the town limits would be required to pay for installation of new service connections with meters from each customer as well as other costs and expenses.

The cost for each customer would be $3,000 plus a $100 deposit with the town clerk.

The monthly minimum charge for water service is $30.

Also Monday, the town trustees will get an update on an audit of 2022 finances by Arledge & Associates. The audit will not be completed until early 2024.

A resolution will also be considered that would establish police reserves and set the qualifications for discipline, training, supervision and performance, according to the town’s agenda for the meeting.
